Shino grew up in Kyushu Island in southern Japan, which has a rich history of ceramics and art. Her mother was an avid collector of traditional Japanese ceramics, textiles, and many other crafts and arts. Being surrounded by all of this growing up had a big influence on her.

Most of her work is hand built using the coil method and working with several different clay bodies.  

Shino has had multiple gallery shows where her larger work has been sold in the upwards of $5,000.  & son is blessed to carry such an esteemed and respected artist.
